Quatschbox is a fully-featured news engine coupled with a robust threaded discussion forum. It is similar in many respects to ja.zz, the system used by Shacknews. The primary goal of Quatschbox is to create an open-source alternative to the traditional forum appearance, by making discussion simple, easy, and fun.

Because there is no formal installation script, it can be somewhat tricky to get Quatschbox installed. Instructions are included in the archive in the docs/ folder.
It may be beneficial to use a web interface to your database to set up Quatschbox; one excellent tool is phpMyAdmin.
